The Navy relieved the commanding officer of Navy Reserve Middle Shreveport, Louisiana, on Friday, making him the second commanding officer the service has relieved this month.
Lt. Cmdr. Adam Sandifer was relieved of his duties by Rear Adm. Michael Steffen, commander of Navy Reserve Forces Command, on account of “a lack of confidence in his capacity to command,” the service mentioned in a quick launch.
“The Navy maintains the best requirements for commanding officers and holds them accountable when these requirements will not be met,” the service mentioned.
