A Troubled Relationship? – UK Constitutional Law Association

A convention hosted by the College of Worcester Faculty of Legislation and the Constitutions, Rights and Justice Analysis Group, in affiliation with the UK Constitutional Legislation Affiliation

Keynote: Prof. Satvinder Juss, Barrister and Professor of Legislation, The Dickinson Poon Faculty of Legislation, King’s School London

Current developments have led students to query the integrity of the UK’s relationship with the worldwide legislation and establishments. Of observe are the UK’s exit from the European Union, the migrant disaster and ‘Rwanda plan’, and proposed withdrawal from the European Conference on Human Rights. This convention invitations papers that debate the interaction between worldwide legislation and home (UK) legislation. Papers might take a look at any space of worldwide legislation, whether or not public or personal, and take any methodological strategy: doctrinal, socio-legal, comparative, important or in any other case. Interdisciplinary papers are additionally welcomed. The next is a non-exhaustive record of themes which may be explored:

The UK courts’ strategy to and engagement with the findings and choices of worldwide courts, tribunals or different adjudicative our bodies;

Dualism and the UK structure;

Attitudes towards and/or perceptions of worldwide legislation within the UK;

The impression of worldwide legislation on UK enterprise and commerce;

Devolution & worldwide legislation.

That is meant to be an inclusive and welcoming convention meant for all students, no matter their self-discipline or profession stage. Contributions from early-career researchers and post-graduate analysis college students are due to this fact welcomed. Papers from underrepresented teams are significantly inspired.
