Poland has reopened its embassy in North Korea after a four-year suspension as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press launch on Friday, Poland’s international ministry mentioned a diplomatic delegation was visiting Pyongyang till Saturday, and that the embassy will function as a short lived mission for restricted personnel in the intervening time.

The ministry mentioned the representatives intend to revive Poland’s everlasting diplomatic presence in Pyongyang and to examine for technical preparations.

Poland turned the second Western nation to renew the operation of its embassy in Pyongyang after Sweden, which reopened its mission in September.

The restored diplomatic channels by Poland and Sweden, that are each members to the North Atlantic Treaty Group(NATO), shall be useful as NATO responds to North Korea’s deployment of troops to Russia to again its warfare in opposition to Ukraine.
