Thick black smoke engulfed an Antelope Valley group as a minimum of 300 crushed automobiles have been ablaze Thursday afternoon at a recycling yard, based on the Los Angeles County Hearth Division.
A video posted on X confirmed a large cloud of black smoke blocking out the sky.
A 3rd alarm, or request for extra sources, was requested, a division spokesperson instructed The Instances, and there was an evacuation order in place for the power.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Division’s Lancaster station had issued a shelter-in-place order for the neighborhood between Division Road and Challenger Means north of Avenue I. The order, issued at 4:42 p.m., stated there have been no evacuations of residences presently.
