Police are investigating after a church constructing and over 40 graves had been defaced in Leyland.
The graffiti was found at St James Church on Slater Lane within the Moss Aspect space of Leyland on the morning of Good Friday (18 April).
The phrases ‘God is a Lie’ have been painted on the facet of the church constructing and faces and penis shapes have been painted throughout grave stones – together with one holding the resting place of an eighteen-month-old.

Cllr Paul Wharton-Hardman, who represents Farington East on South Ribble Borough Council, mentioned: “Over 40 gravestones desecrated. The church constructing defaced. St James Church, Moss Aspect—vandalised with revolting, hate-filled graffiti. On Good Friday of all days.
“This wasn’t senseless. This was a deliberate assault on a spot of religion, peace, and reminiscence. Households buried their family members right here. Individuals come to mourn, to hope, to seek out hope. And that is what they’re greeted with?

“I make no apology for the graphic pictures. Individuals NEED to see this filth. How on earth can the church kind this today- and a marriage tomorrow?”
South Ribble Borough Council have attended the scene and are taking a look at bringing in specialist cleansing to resolve the matter.
Lancashire Constabulary confirmed to Weblog Preston they’re investigating the incident.
